It is normal to have lived at your parents' house for most of your life by the time you are in your early 20s. This can make it difficult to determine what kind of lifestyle you would like to have. While you could visit multiple areas to try to get a better idea, this will not provide you with an accurate representation of living there. This means you will want to search real estate rentals in various locations and start with one of them.
Urban Apartment
The urban lifestyle often includes being close to almost everything and not necessarily needing to own a vehicle to get around. It may be possible to walk, bike, and take public transportation exclusively. You may also be looking at multistory apartment buildings with small units to house the highly dense population. If you want to keep your costs to a minimum, you should either look for a studio apartment in which you have one decent-sized living space to yourself or find a roommate or two to live in a larger place.
Suburban Home
Another lifestyle that you can undertake is one in a suburban neighborhood. Most places to live in the suburbs are single-family homes, which are perfect for those with children and pets. If you love to have family and friends over for barbecues, dinner, or holidays, you will appreciate the ample space. This kind of home should provide you with a reasonable commute to most jobs within the city. It should also not take that long to get to areas where you can find entertainment such as theaters, arenas, or restaurants.
Rural Property
Living in a rural area is a unique experience compared to an urban or suburban lifestyle. It may be a little harder to find rentals in these places because there are not that many properties in general. But, this should not prevent you from being able to find a place to live that is also within your price range. The main challenge that you will have is getting to work if you are working in the nearest city. But on the bright side, you should be able to find more affordable rentals while also getting a lot of square footage.
Regardless of where you decide to live, you should take a peek at all these possible lifestyles in the beginning so that you are able to make a well-informed decision with finding a place to live.
